Dekton worktops, supplied & fitted
Dekton, made by Cosentino, is an ultra-compact surface fused under extreme heat and pressure. It's heatproof, scratch resistant and UV-stable, so it works in the kitchen and outdoors.

- Price fitted£350–£700 per m²
- ThicknessCommonly 12mm or 20mm
- SealingNever needed
- HeatHeatproof
- OutdoorsYes, UV-stable
Dekton is made from a blend of the raw materials found in glass, porcelain and quartz, sintered at very high temperature into a dense, almost non-porous slab. The result is one of the toughest worktops you can buy: you can put a hot pan straight on it, it won't fade in sunlight, and it's highly resistant to scratches and stains.
It suits modern, minimalist kitchens, with matt concretes, stone-looks and dramatic veined designs, and slim profiles that are hard to achieve in natural stone. It's also our go-to for outdoor kitchens and barbecue areas.
Why choose dekton
- Heatproof: hot pans are fine
- UV-stable: won't fade, ideal outdoors
- Extremely scratch and stain resistant
- Non-porous: no sealing
- Slim, contemporary profiles
Worth knowing
- Edges and corners can chip if knocked hard
- Pattern is mostly on the surface, so edge details are limited
- Specialist fabrication, priced accordingly
What does a Dekton worktop cost?
Dekton and similar porcelain surfaces typically cost around £350–£700 per square metre supplied and fitted, roughly £1,900–£3,800 for a typical 5–6 m² kitchen. See our worktop cost guide to compare with quartz and granite.
Dekton for outdoor kitchens
Because it's UV-stable and frost resistant, Dekton is one of the few worktops that can live outside year-round without fading or cracking. It's ideal for barbecue islands, outdoor bars and garden kitchens.
Living with Dekton
Clean it with warm soapy water; it never needs sealing. The one thing to watch is impact: a heavy pan dropped on an edge can chip it, so we recommend an eased or slightly rounded edge rather than a razor-sharp one.
How we fit Dekton
Dekton needs precise cutting and careful handling. We template your kitchen, fabricate in our own Sheffield workshop and fit with our own team, anywhere in the UK.
